All students should submit their applications to the school and then request the transcript in Naviance ten school days prior to the application deadline date. Due to the fact that the Transcript Office will be closed over the Holidays, those applications with a deadline for January 1, 2014 must be in the Office by Monday, December 10, 2013 and those with a January 15, 2014 deadline must be filed before 3:00 on Wednesday, December 19, 2013 in order to meet deadlines. Students must have:
Filed the junior questionnaire and parent information sheet with their counselor
Provided all necessary information and documents for written recommendations for teachers and allow adequate time
Consulted their counselor concerning their application
Request for Transcript for each application on Naviance. (See Mrs. Hall, in room 104 with any questions.)
Applications with a November 15th Deadline must have their transcript requests in by November 1st.
Do we have your correct information? If you have any corrections or desire a duplicate mailing of all information, please contact Tiffany Smith, Registrar, at 847- 582-7313 to update your name, address, telephone and/or emergency contacts.
After all graduation requirements are met, special consideration will be given for early graduation. Students must complete the Early Graduation Request Form with detailed information on why they wish to graduate early and receive approval in writing from their parents and the counselor. The Deadline for the application is December 13, 2013. Counselors will provide a copy of graduation progress.
Over 200 admissions officers will be visiting LFHS this fall. The list of scheduled visits is can be found in Family Connection (Naviance).
TO SIGN UP TO ATTEND A COLLEGE VISIT:
1. Log into Family Connection (Naviance)
2. Click on the “Colleges” tab
3. Click on “View All Upcoming College Visits”
4. Locate the College/University(s) visiting LFHS that you are interested in attending
5. Click on “Sign Up”
6. Click on “Sign Me Up” and then print that confirmation page
7. Get permission from your teacher and have them sign your confirmation page.
8. Bring the signed confirmation page with you to the visit-you will not be admitted without it.
*****These steps need to be followed for each visit you want to attend*****
NOTE: If you have lunch or a free period, you must still sign-up and bring your confirmation page. You do not need to get a signature if the visit falls during one of those times.
New visits are added to Naviance daily so you should check the frequently for updates. If you need assistance, see Mrs. Gleason in the College Resource Center, Room 103A
To locate a list of scholarships that are available, visit the scholarship section in Family Connection (Naviance). Click on the “Colleges” tab then scroll down and click on “Scholarship List”. This will give you a variety of scholarships available to all students.

The Illinois State Board of Education is providing ACT Online Prep (Free) to all school districts through May 31, 2014. This program helps students prepare for taking the ACT exam by providing a preliminary diagnostic test and personalized study path to help students focus their preparation time. It also includes a comprehensive content review for the required English, Math, Reading, and Science tests. Students will be able to take (2) practice tests with questions taken from retired ACT tests. This program can be accessed anywhere, anytime via the Internet. Pick up your user name and password in the College Resource Center.
