Counseling

Counseling is a vital part of college and career preparation. Counseling at Lake Forest High School is highly individualized, as each student presents unique strengths, weaknesses, and goals for the future. High School academics are a vital part of planning for the future. LFHS graduation requirements follow the state mandate, but many colleges are looking for a more difficult course pattern. We realize that course selection depends on interest and appropriateness for the individual student, but we recommend four years of English, four of Math, and three years of Science, Social Studies and Foreign Language. During the Freshmen year students complete a four-year academic plan with their counselor. This plan is a general guideline for the student to follow as he or she looks toward the future. For further information on academic planning please contact the student's counselor.
