Young Hearts for Life screens over 900 students!

On Thursday, Sept. 6 and Friday, Sept. 7, over 145 local community volunteers worked with the Max Schewitz Foundation, Midwest Heart Foundation, Lake Forest High School and the APT to provide free EKG testing to over 900 Lake Forest High School students. This effort, known as “Young Hearts for Life” screens young adults for heart abnormalities. The screening was further supported by the generosity of Bella Home Medical, Medline, Lake Forest Hospital, and the Village of Lake Bluff. Volunteers included many students’ parents, members of the Lake Bluff fire department, and Lake Forest Hospital. In the fall of 2008 all incoming freshmen and those LFHS students who missed this year’s screening will be offered free EKG testing.
