Time Flies
It is hard to believe my first year as APT President is almost behind me. The year has been very rewarding especially due to the wonderful group of volunteers that make up the APT Board. Many board members are graduating their last or only child from LFHS and are completing many years of volunteering. I am sure I speak on behalf of all past APT Presidents, thank you to all of you who have given so much of your time to our high school. We know we will continue to see you in the community volunteering your time in many other ways. There are many ways to volunteer at the high school but I would like to think that time spent on the APT board is not only worthwhile but also rewarding. If you would like to become more involved, please contact me.
We are currently in the process of getting next year’s board in place and also have many opportunities to help with committees such at the annual “Be True to Your School” fundraiser. Again, thank you to all board members for a great year and I am looking forward to an exciting year ahead.

Chrystal Gannon
APT President

Thank you to Kelly Christensen ‘08, for designing the cover of the directory. Thank you to Katie Begley, APT VP, for organizing the volunteers for Parent Teacher Conferences. They directed parents to classes, handed out schedules and listened to parking woes! Thank you to our hospitality committee, Jill Moutvic, Linda Ganshirt, Julia Fiske-Parker, who provided an Italian dinner for all faculty and staff that evening. Special thanks to Linda Barrett, Asst. to the Principal, for all her hard work in making conferences run so smoothly. Criteria for 2008 APT Senior Service Scholarship Application

APT Senior Service Awards are given each year to those students who have been
involved  and given their time, energy, and talents to the benefit of Lake Forest
High School.  The emphasis when selecting a recipient will be on school service,

Leadership positions and those that are highly visible are not prerequisites for this award.  This award has been established for those individuals who have given unselfishly in ways that are often behind the scenes.  A student’s activities might be quite diverse, having contributed in several areas such as student government, school publications, sports, choral groups, academic teams, drama, band and other organizations/clubs.  Also, the student’s contribution may have been concentrated in one area such as music where many hours have been given to plays, concerts, pep bands, etc.
