We had a great turn out for our combined Freshman/Sophomore parent meeting on Street Smarts - Parents, Teens and the Law. We would like to thank LEAD for their support in putting together this meeting, and all the panel members present, especially Stacy Vermylen, Director of Lake Forest/Lake Bluff Underage Drinking Prevention Coalition for being our moderator. While the topic is always a difficult one, attendees left the meeting more knowledgeable about the law and the resources available to us parents.

Our next and final parent meeting “Looking Ahead to Your Sophomore Year”
is scheduled for:
January 8
10 am
David Miller Theater.

Representatives from the Lake Forest High School counseling department will discuss the registration process for next year’s classes, the PLAN testing which is administered next October. They will also introduce parents to Naviance, the computerized network based college counseling tool as well as discuss how kids can get involved, and tools for helping your child stay balanced. Also present will be Ms. Rhonda Benson representative from the Driver’s Education Department, she will discuss the Driver’s Ed program. This is our last Freshman Class Parent Meeting.
