05/08/13
The Scouts beat Lake Zurich in three close games
(25-22, 21-25, 25-23) Wednesday for Senior Night.  The Scouts led a well-balanced offense the entire match.  Seniors Jeff Habjan, Sam Watson, Jeff Zillner and Andrei Murphy led the team to a great win heading into playoffs.  The Scouts will play Vernon Hills next week in a preview of the playoffs.

The Scouts will play the first round of Regionals at Vernon Hills, Monday May 20, at 5:30 PM.



04/27/13
The Scouts finished fourth at the Libertyville invite.  Jeff Habjan had 85 assists throughout the day, while hitters Andrew Salzer and Sam Watson led the team with 22 and 24 kills respectively.  Middles Sam Danneker and Jack Duffy also recorded 19 kills to help the Scouts.

The Scouts have Warren and 6th-ranked Stevenson this week.


04/26/13
The Scouts let a close game slip away against Libertyville only to beat the Wildcats in the following two games 25-14, 25-11.  The Scouts got up big in the second and third games early and built upon their leads with great performances from Jeff Zillner (11 kills) and Jack Preschlack (6 kills, 3 blocks).


4/15/2013
Lake Forest was defeated by Evanston Monday night 21-25, 18-25.  Middles Sam Danneker and Jack Duffy both had 5 kills in the match.  Opposite Sam Watson had 4 kills and 4 blocks to keep the match close in the first game.  Jeff Habjan had 13 assists.  The Scouts play Zion-Benton on Wednesday.

4/12-4/13/2013
The Scouts finished 11th overall in the Lake County tournament.  On Friday night they lost close matches to top-ranked Deerfield (22-25, 18-25) and Warren (17-25, 23-25) with a late 8-point run to almost win the game.  The Scouts beat Libertyville (25-10, 25-19).  On Saturday the Scouts came back to push Lakes to three games (16-25, 25-19, 18-25).  The Scouts ended the day by defeating Zion-Benton (25-23, 25-18).  Six different players had 7 or more kills throughout the tournament.

4/10/2013
The Scouts defeated Grant in two games.  It was a team effort as two different groups of Scouts played each game--winning 25-13, 25-19.  The Scouts won with the help of good serving and defense.


04/03/13
Lake Forest defeated Mundelein 25-19, 25-21 in a very close game that went back and forth for the majority of the match.  The Scouts were led in kills by junior middle Sam Danneker with 8 kills and Sammy Watson with 8 kills.  Four other players (Andrew Salzer, Jack Preschlack, Jack Duffy and Jeff Zillner) each scored four kills as well.  The offense was well-balanced throughout the match.  Jeff Habjan accumulated 15 total assists throughout the match.  Libero Andy Murphy gathered 6 digs and two service aces late in the game to pull ahead.  The Scout pulled away late in both games making a 4- and 5-point run in each game that gained the Scouts their first victory of the season.  The team is 1-1 heading into the Glenbard East Springfest Tournament.


03/20/13
Lake Forest lost a hard-fought game to Carmel 23-25, 25-19, 17-25.  The team was led by outsides Martin Grum with 8 Kills and Jeff Zillner getting 10 kills.  Ryan Bradford notched 21 total assists in the match.  Andy Murphy and Andrew Salzer combined for 8 digs to keep the Scouts in the match.  The Scouts battled the entire match in their first contest of the season.

The team returns to action on the Wednesday (4/3) following Spring Break.
