Lake
Forest won its third Golf State Championship Saturday at The
Den Golf Course in Bloomington. It was the Scouts first title
since 2004. On Friday, Lake Forest was led by Ian Mankoff
who shot a one-over par 73. Joe Willis added a 75 while Perry
Johnson (77) and Nick Steffens (81) rounded out the scoring for
the Scouts first day total of 306, which put them in first place
by seven shots.
On Saturday, Lake Forest held off a furious charge by New Trier
to win the title by four shots. Charlie Marshall bounced
back from a first day 83 to lead the team with an even par 72. Joe
Willis stayed consistent with a 77, while Perry Johnson (80) and
Nick Steffens (82) provided the Scouts with the steady play needed
for a 311 second-day total and the 617 overall total that was more
than good enough for the championship. Joe Willis' two-day
total of 152 earned him a 9th place individual finish. Read

10/11/10--Scouts
Place First at St. Viator Sectional!
The Scouts won the St. Viator Sectional Monday held at Old Orchard
Country Club to earn a trip Downstate. Their 297 total beat second
place Glenbrook North by four shots. Joe Willis finished in a tie
for 4th individually with a 73. Perry Johnson (74), Ian Mankoff
(75)--even par on the back nine) and Charlie Marshall (75) all
helped the Scouts to victory. Even though his score did not count,
senior Quincy Coulter had a one-under par back nine to help him
shoot a 77.
Lake Forest plays has a practice round on Thursday before the
State Tournament starts on Friday at The Den in Bloomington.
10/05/10--Scouts
Take First at Warren Regional
The Scouts dominated the Warren Regional on Tuesday at Bittersweet
Golf Club. Their 299 total beat runner-up Mundelein
by 22 shots. Charlie Marshall was the individual
medalist with an even par 72. Following closely behind him
were Joe Willis (73) and Perry Johnson (75). Quincy Coulter
rounded out the scoring with a 79.
The Scouts advance to Monday’s Sectional at Old
Orchard CC.

The boys' varsity split its squad and had mixed results. At
the Bruce Slovitt Memorial Tournament at Winnetka, the Scouts finished
in 12th place. At the Cougar Classic at White Deer Run, Lake
Forest won with a 331. Perry Johnson and Ian Mankoff had
top ten finishes.
The Frosh-Soph ended its season with a 4th place finish at the
St. Viator Invitational at Old Orchard. Drew Takacs finished
5th individually with a 79.

Lake Forest JV 156 - Lake Forest Academy 167
The JV traveled to Deerpath GC to take on Lake
Forest Academy on Thursday and won by a 156-167 score. Nick Steffens
and Quincy Coulter were medalists with 38. Chad Williams and Mac
Mardjetko added a pair of 40’s to help the Scouts to victory.
On Saturday, the Varsity splits its team to play in both
the Bruce Slovitt Memorial Tournament at Winnetka and the Vernon
Hills Invitational at White Deer Run.

Lake Forest 301 - Mundelein 305
The Scouts started their post-season
run on the right note by winning the Prairie-Lakes Conference Championship
yesterday at Willow Glen GC. Their 301 score defeated runner-up
Mundelein by four shots. Individually, the Scouts were led by Perry
Johnson and Jack Hermes, both of whom had top five finishes with
74. Charlie Marshall added a 76 and Ian Mankoff and Quincy Coulter
finished off the scoring with 77’s.
09/25/10
The Scouts hosted their own McDermand Invitational
on Saturday at Lake Bluff and were anything but gracious hosts
as the Blue squad picked up the championship,
shooting a 299 to win by two shots over Carmel. Charlie
Marshall was the individual medalist with a one-under par 71.
Ian Mankoff finished in ninth place with a 74. Perry Johnson
and Joe Wills added 77’s. The Gold
squad impressed, shooting a 315 to finish 7th out of 16 schools. Drew
Takacs and Nick Steffens led the way with 78’s. Quincy
Coulter (79) and a pair of 80’s by Chad Williams and
Corbon Heizer rounded out the scoring.
Good luck to the Scouts as they compete
in the Prairie-Lakes Conference Championship Tuesday at Willow
Glen Golf Course.

Lake Forest 148 - Warren 154
The Varsity traveled to Bittersweet on Wednesday to take on Warren.
The Scouts won by a 148-154 score. Charlie Marshall continued his
impressive play of late, leading the Scouts with an even par 36.
Ian Mankoff and Chad Williams added 37’s and a plethora of
Scouts shot 38 (Drew Takacs, Quincy Coulter, Nick Steffens, Perry
Johnson, and Joe Willis). Lake Forest takes on Stevenson today
in a make-up of Tuesday’s rained out match. This is the Scouts
last dual match of the season.

Matches were rained out Tuesday. Varsity is back in action
Wednesday at Bittersweet versus Warren. F/S hosts Warren
on Thursday.
09/20/10
In a match-up between two of the top teams in the conference,
the Scouts traveled to Steeple Chase on Monday to face Mundelein.
The outcome equaled the talent as Lake Forest
edged the Mustangs thanks to a 6th score tie-breaker. Both
teams shot an even-par score of 144, but it was the Scouts depth
that proved the difference as their 5th and 6th scores were both
38 (Charlie Marshall/Chad Williams) which secured the victory.
Jack Hermes led the way with a one-under par 35. Joe Willis and
Perry Johnson both shot even-par 36, while Ian Mankoff added a
37.
The Scouts are back in action today with another tough conference
match as they travel to take on Stevenson.
09/18/10
Another Saturday and another chance for the Scouts
to showcase their talent and depth. At the prestigious Wildcat
Invitational at Chevy Chase (21 teams), Lake
Forest shot a 305 to win the title by five shots over St. Viator. Charlie
Marshall was the Scouts’ medalist with a 73. This
earned him a second place finish. Joe Wills’ 74
was good enough for fourth. Alex Schwartz (77) and
Drew Takacs (81) rounded out the scoring.
At Steeple Chase in the Mustang Invitational,
it took a school record score by host Mundelein to beat Lake Forest. The
Scouts finished second, shooting a 308. Jack Hermes
finished in fourth place overall with a 73. Quincy Coulter’s
74 was good enough for sixth place. Chad Williams (80), and
CorbonHeizer and Nick Steffens (81) helped the Scouts to their
strong showing.

Scouts Take First Again
In one of the most highly anticipated events of the season, the
Scouts took on Highland Park, Loyola, and New Trier at Northmoor
Country Club on Thursday. Lake Forest proved it belongs among
the state’s elite, shooting a 153 to beat Highland
Park by 3 shots. Loyola was third with 158 and New
Trier shot a 163. Joe Willis was medalist for the Scouts
with a 37. Charlie Marshall and Alex Schwartz each added
38’s and Ian Mankoff and Perry Johnson rounded out the scoring,
each shooting 40.
Lake Forest plays in both the Wildcat Invitational at Chevy Chase
and the Mustang Invitational at Steeple Chase on Saturday.
09/14/10
Lake Forest 143 - Libertyville 155
The Varsity Scouts hosted Libertyville Tuesday in an important
conference match. Charlie Marshall’s 2-under par score
of 34 led Lake Forest to a 12 shot victory, 143-155. Joe
Willis shot a one under par 35, Ian Mankoff was even par at 36,
and Alex Schwartz, Quincy Coulter, Chad Williams, Mac Mardjetko,
and Nick Steffens all shot 38.
09/11/10
The Varsity was able to split its squad once again on Saturday. The
results were mixed. At the Zion Invitational at Shepherd’s
Crook, Lake Forest won easily as they shot a 302 to win
by 17 shots. Joe Willis earned a third place medal
with a 74. The Scouts amazing consistency was shown as their
next three scores were Perry Johnson (75), Corbon Heizer (76),
and Ian Mankoff (77).
The other squad went to Sunset Valley to take on New Trier and
Highland Park. Lake Forest shot a 316 to finish third. Leading
the way for the Scouts were Chad Williams (77) and Jack Hermes
(78). Nick Steffens (80) and Drew Barrett (81) also counted
for Lake Forest.

Lake Forest JV 149 - Warren 157
The JV team traveled to Bittersweet on Thursday to take on Warren
and shot an outstanding 149 score to win by 18 shots. The
Scouts were led by Quincy Coulter’s even par score of 36. Corbon
Heizer shot a 37 and Chad Williams and Drew Takacs rounded out
the scoring with 38’s.
09/04/10
The wind was strong and the competition stronger, but
the Scouts rose above all as they played in the St. Viator Tournament
of Champions Invitational Saturday. Playing in the most talented
field they will most likely see outside the State Tournament, Lake
Forest shot a 304 to win by two shots over Hinsdale Central. Top
Ten finishes by Joe Willis (75), Charlie Marshall (76), and Alex
Schwartz (76), along with a solid 77 by Mac Mardjetko, led the
Scouts to the impressive victory.
Also on Saturday, the Scouts hosted a Quad at
Lake Bluff against Loyola, Carmel, and Zion Benton. Lake
Forest once again showed its amazing depth by shooting a 307 to
win. Nick Steffens and Drew Takacs (75) were medalists
for the Scouts. Jack Hermes (78) and Jackson Bedford (79)
scored as well.

Lake Forest 147 - Zion Benton 173
The Varsity played Zion Benton at Shepherd’s Crook
on Wednesday and walked off with a 147-173 victory. Joe Willis
had an outstanding one-under par total of 34. Mac Mardjetko added
an even-par 35, while Charlie Marshall (37) and Corbon Heizer (40)
helped the Scouts to victory. Lake Forest splits the squad this
weekend and plays in their own Quad at Lake Bluff and at the St.
Viator Invitational at Old Orchard.

Both the Varsity and Frosh-Soph teams split their squads on Tuesday
and all teams won their respective matches. At Chalet Hills, the
Varsity shot a 153 to defeat Lake Zurich (165) and Antioch (189).
Perry Johnson led the way with a 35. Ian Mankoff (37), Alex Schwartz
(39) , and Quincy Coulter (42) also scored for Lake Forest. The
F/S also shot a 153 to win going away over the Bears (189) and
the Sequoits (210). Jackson Bedford shot an even par 36 for medalist
honors. Drew Barrett (38), Jack Barrie (39), and Drew Takacs (40)
helped lead the Scouts to victory.
At Lake Bluff, Lake Forest hosted Lake Forest Academy and the results
were just as impressive. The Varsity won 156-175. Jack Hermes and
Mac Mardjetko shot one-under par 35 and Nick Steffens chipped in
with a 41. The F/S won 169-191. Ben Simpson was medalist with a
41. Close behind him were Robert Kesman (42), Rylan Terrassee (43),
and Graham Ganshirt (43). The Scouts travel to Zion Wednesday to
take on the Zee-Bees.

On Saturday, Lake Forest played in the Warren Invitational at Bittersweet. The
Scouts took second out of twelve teams with a 303 score, finishing one shot
back. Perry Johnson was the individual medalist with a two-under
par score of 70. Joe Willis added a 76, and Charlie Marshall shot a 78. Ian
Mankoff and Alex Schwartz rounded out the scoring, each with a 79.
08/23/10
The Scouts split their squad yesterday and competed in the Lake
County Championship at Antioch and the Glenbrook South Invitational
at North Shore Country Club. Although Lake Forest
finished second in both tournaments, they showed impressive
skill and depth with outstanding team and individual scores. At
Lake County, the Scouts shot a 288 to finish three shots out
of first. Jack Hermes led the way with a one-under par
70 which earned him third place. Drew Takacs finished in
ninth place (71) and Chad Williams finished in eleventh (72). Quincy
Coulter finished the scoring with a 75. At North Shore,
Lake Forest 295 was two shots out of first. Perry Johnson
was the individual medalist with an outstanding three-under par
69. Joe Willis’ 73 was good enough for fourth place. Alex
Schwartz (76) and Ian Mankoff (77) contributed to the Scouts
fine performance. Overall, Lake Forest had twelve players
play yesterday and not one player shot above 79

Scouts Place Third at Woodstock Invitational
The Scouts wanted to build on the momentum of their season-opening
victory when they traveled to Plum Tree National to play in the
Woodstock Invitational. Unfortunately, Lake Forest came up
short as its 311 score was good enough for third place. They
finished two shots behind Barrington and Highland Park. Joe
Willis finished in sixth place with a 76; Ian Mankoff shot a 77
which placed him ninth, and Perry Johnson’s 78 earned him
a tenth-place medal. Charlie Marshall and Alex Schwartz rounded
out the scoring---each shooting 80.
08/18/10
Scouts Win First Tournament of the Season
The boys started off their 2010 season with a bang as they won
the Bloomington Tournament held at The Den, site of the State Championship
tournament. Lake Forest shot a 299 to hold off second place Macomb
by two shots. St. Viator was a distant third at 312. Charlie Marshall
earned second-place honors with a 72. Joe Willis also shot a 72,
but finished in third due to a scorecard playoff. Rounding out
the scores for the Scouts were: Nick Steffens (77), Perry Johnson
(78), Alex Schwartz and Ian Mankoff (79 each). Having all six scores
in the 70's showed Lake Forest's depth and will be a major part
of their success this year. The Scouts play in the Woodstock Invitational
on Thursday at Plum Tree National.

Congratulations to the Boys' Golf team---Third Place at State
Meet!
The Boys’ Golf Team finished off an outstanding season with
an impressive 3rd place finish in last weekend’s State Tournament
at The Den in Bloomington. The Scouts shot a 316 on Friday
and a 309 on Saturday for a 625 total. Senior Peter Marshall
capped off his excellent career by leading Lake Forest with a 155
total (81-74). Following him were Charlie Marshall (158; 75-83),
Peter Skinner (160; 86-74), and John Michael Boyle (160; 78-82). Perry
Johnson (161; 82-79) and Alex Schwartz (166; 82-88) also contributed
to the Scouts’ team score over the course of the weekend.
Congratulations and best wishes to our seniors--Peter Marshall,
Peter Skinner, John Michael Boyle, Jack Murphy, Nick Charhut--for
all they have contributed to the program over the last four years!!
10/12/09--Scouts Win Sectional!
The Boys’ Golf Team won its own Sectional Monday at Lake
Bluff GC with a team score of one-over par 289. Lake Forest defeated
second place Carmel by 20 shots. Senior Peter Marshall won the
individual title by winning with a par on the first extra hole
of a playoff. Peter shot a two-under 70. Charlie Marshall shot
a 71, and John Michael Boyle (72), and Perry Johnson (76) helped
lead the Scouts Downstate.
The Scouts play a practice round on Thursday, and their march
to a State Championship begins Friday at The Den in Bloomington.

10/05/09--SCOUTS ADVANCE!
The Boys' Golf Team finished in 2nd place at the Zion Regional
held at Shepherd's Crook GC on Tuesday. The conditions were brutal
as the wind howled and the rain came down. However, their score
of 317 easily allowed them to advance to Monday's Sectional which
the Scouts will host at Lake Bluff GC. Alex Schwartz led the
way with a 77, which earned him a 5th place finish. Also scoring
for Lake Forest were Charlie Marshall (79), Perry Johnson (80),
and Peter Marshall (81). Before Monday's Sectional, the Scouts
will play in the Exmoor Invitational at Exmoor CC on Saturday.
10/03/09--Final Tune-Up
On Saturday, the Scouts once again split the squad to take full
advantage of its depth. On a wet and soggy Saturday, the
boys went to Winnetka GC to play in the Bruce Slovitt Memorial
Tournament hosted by New Trier and White Deer Run to play in
the Cougar Invitational hosted by Vernon Hills and earned runner-up
finishes at both.
At Winnetka, the Scouts shot a 303 to finish in second place behind
host New Trier. Perry Johnson’s 72 earned him a second
place finish and Alex Schwartz finished 6th with a 76. Peter
Marshall (77) and Charlie Marshall and Peter Skinner (78’s)
finished the scoring.
At White Deer Run, their 318 score was highlighted by freshman
Ian Mankoff’s 76 (2nd place). Foster Meeks shot an 80,
and finishing with 81’s were Joe Willis, Nick Charhut, and
Quincy Coulter.
The second season begins Tuesday as the Scouts play in
the IHSA Regional at Shepherd’s Crook GC in Zion.
09/29/09
Congratulations Conference Champions!
A day that started out cold, dark, and windy ended up bright and
sunny as the Scouts won the North Suburban Conference Championship
Tuesday at Midlane GC. Lake Forest shot a 306, which beat
runner-up Mundelein by 8 shots. The Scouts had six players
place in the top ten as individuals. Perry Johnson and Peter
Skinner both shot 75 and ended up 3rd and 4th respectively. Finishing
in 6th through tenth place, all with 78's, were Peter Marshall,
Alex Schwartz, Charlie Marshall, and Ian Mankoff. Next up
for the Scouts is the Bruce Slovitt Memorial Invitational Saturday
at Winnetka GC. This is their final tune up before the IHSA
Regionals which begin on Tuesday.

The Boys’ golf team split the squad into the Gold and Blue
teams Saturday and played in its own McDermand Invitational at
Lake Bluff GC. Incredibly, all twelve players shot between
75-81, and each team shot a 306, an outstanding showing of skill
and depth. These finishes put the teams in 4th and 5th place
out of 16 teams. The Gold team was comprised of Peter Skinner
(75- 9th place), Alex Schwartz (76), Peter Marshall (77), Perry
Johnson (78), John Michael Boyle (79), and Charlie Marshall (81). The
Blue team was made up of Jack Murphy (75- 6th place), Ian Mankoff
(76), Joe Willis (76), Quincy Coulter (79), Nick Charhut(80), and
Foster Meeks (80). Good luck to the Scouts as they compete in the
Conference Tournament Tuesday at Midlane GC.

Lake Forest 154 - Warren 160
Congratulations Scouts---NSC Champions
The Scouts clinched the North Suburban Lakes Conference Championship
with a 154-160 victory over Warren Thursday at Bittersweet GC.
Leading the way was Perry Johnson who shot a 37. His round was
highlighted by an eagle on the 5th hole as he holed out from 95
yards. Alex Schwartz (38), Peter Marshall (39), and Peter Skinner
(40) also played well and helped the Scouts earn the championship.
On Saturday, Lake Forest will once again split the squad as they
place two teams in their own McDermand Invitational at Lake Bluff.
This is their final tune up before the Conference Tournament which
is Tuesday at Midlane GC.

Lake Forest 139 - Stevenson 151
Lake Forest came out ready to play against Stevenson at Lake Bluff
GC on Tuesday afternoon in a matchup that faced off the two undefeated
conference rivals. On a beautiful day for golf, the Scouts fired
up a season low 5 under par, 139, to defeat the Patriots by 12
shots (151). Leading the charge for Lake Forest was John Michael
Boyle, who shot a season low 33 (-3), Alex Schwartz 34 (-2), and
Peter Skinner 35 (-1). Also counting for the Scouts was the brother
tandem of Peter and Charlie Marshall--both posted a score of 37
(+1). The Scouts end their Conference matches this Thursday when
they travel to Bittersweet GC to take on Warren HS. This match
will decide the NSC Lake Division Conference Champion for 2009.
09/19/09--SCOUTS HAVE A BANNER WEEKEND!
Chevy Chase
On Saturday, the Boys' split squad almost won a doubleheader. They
finished first at the Wildcat Invitational and second at the Mustang
Invitational. Their first place score of 296 beat the field
of 22 teams and featured the 2nd place finish by Peter Marshall
who shot a 3-under par 69. John Michael Boyle finished in
6th place (72), Charlie Marshall earned 9th place (75), and Perry
Johnson and Peter Skinner both shot 80. (more stats)

At Steeple Chase, they barely beat the darkness as they shot 308
to finish in second place in the 8-team field. Alex Schwartz
finished in 2nd place (74), while Joe Willis (76) and Nick Charhut
(78) earned top ten medals. Quincy Colter and Jack Murphy

The Boys’ Golf Team stayed undefeated in Conference play
as it defeated Mundelein Thursday 148-157 at Lake Bluff. Perry
Johnson and Ian Mankoff both shot even-par rounds of 36; Charlie
Marshall and Alex Schwartz added a pair of 38’s. .On Saturday,
the Scouts will split the squad and play in the Wildcat Invitational
at The Traditions at Chevy Chase CC and the Mundelein Invitational
at Steeple Chase GC.

On Monday, Lake Forest played the difficult Red Course at Northmoor
Country Club and emerged victorious in a Quad with New Trier,
Highland Park, and Loyola. The Scouts shot a 150, followed

Once the fog lifted Saturday morning, it was clear to see who was
the class of the 19-team Zee-Bee Invitational held Saturday at
Shepherd’s Crook GC. The Scouts shot a 300 to win
by 6 shots. Peter Marshall lost a scorecard playoff for medalist
honors with his 73. Perry Johnson finished 4th with a 74. John
Michael Boyle (76) and Alex Schwartz (77) also counted for the
Scouts. Charlie Marshall and Ian Mankoff both shot 80 to
showcase Lake Forest’s depth.

Lake Forest 144 (season low) - Lake Zurich 173
The Scouts were once again at home to take on conference rival
Lake Zurich. On a beautiful day for golf, the Scouts took
advantage of the 3300 yard front nine at Lake Bluff--shooting a
season low 144, even par, which defeated Lake Zurich's 173. Playing
for the Scouts were: Charlie Marshall (35), Peter Marshall and
Perry Johnson (36), Ian Mankoff, Nick Charhut, and Alex Schwartz
(37) and John Michael Boyle and Peter Skinner (38). Lake Forest
will once again be splitting the team this weekend as they play
in the loaded Zee-Bee Invitational as well as the Highland Park
Quad match.

The Boys’ Golf Team split the squad Saturday and the results
showed the depth and talent of this year’s team. Hosting
a Quad at Lake Bluff, the Scouts shot an outstanding 302, defeating
Carmel by one shot. Loyola (324) and Zion-Benton (329) filled
out the field. Consistency was the key for the Scouts as they
were led by sophomore Joe Willis’ 74. Following
closely behind were Peter Skinner (75), Nick Charhut (76), and
Nick Steffens (77).

At the newly named Tournament of Champions hosted by St. Viator
and played at Old Orchard Country Club, the Scouts finished in
second place, shooting a phenomenal 292--narrowly losing out by
one shot to St. Viator. Perry Johnson led the way with a 72,
which tied for 10th. Charlie Marshall (73), Peter Marshall
(73), and John Michael Boyle (74), Alex Schwartz (74) also counted
towards the Scouts well-balanced attack. Rounding out the
Scouts was Ian Mankoff, who shot 79.

On Thursday the Scout varsity golfers made their way up to Shepherd's
Crook GC in Zion to take on the conference rival Zee-Bees. The
Scouts were able to take advantage of the perfect conditions and
narrowly edge out Zion with a score of 157 to Zion’s 162. Medalist
honors for Lake Forest go to senior John Michael Boyle with a score
of 37. Also scoring for the Scouts were Charlie Marshall (38)
and Peter Marshall, Ian Mankoff, and Perry Johnson all settled
for 41’s. Scouts next matchup is this weekend where
they will split their squad and send a group to the St. Viator
Invitational at Old Orchard GC and also host a Quad Match at Lake
Bluff GC.

Golf Course. Perry Johnson was the Medalist with a score of 38. Also scoring
for the Scouts were Peter Marshall 39, Alex Schwartz 40, and Nick

Scouts Keep Rolling--Win Warren Invitational--Team & Individual
Standings
On a Saturday that felt more like October than August, the Scouts
proved they can play the tough courses in tough conditions. Lake
Forest won the Warren Invitational at Bittersweet Golf Course on
a cold, windy Saturday with a team score of 309, winning by a commanding
eleven shots. Although they didn’t have the individual
champion, their depth proved the difference as they placed three
players in the top four. Alex Schwartz carded a 75 (2nd Place);
John Michael Boyle shot a 75 (3rd) while Perry Johnson added a
77 (4th). Peter Marshall’s 81 rounded out the scoring.

Scouts Capture Lake County Invitational
On Monday afternoon, Shepherds Crook Golf Club played host to the Lake County
Invitational. The windy conditions, back tees, and difficult pin positions
made for a difficult test for all the golfers. Despite the conditions,
the Scouts were able to remain focused and post a score of 309, which bettered
second place Highland Park by 4 shots. Senior Peter Marshall was the medalist
for the Scouts with a score of 76 and a 4th Place Individual finish. Also
counting for the Scouts were Charlie Marshall (77), John Michael Boyle (77) and

The Scout golfers didn’t get much time to savor their victory at The Den;
instead, they were
up at5 am the next morning in order to play in the prestigious Woodstock Invitational
at
Plum Tree National Golf Club in Harvard. The round started with a one-hour
rain delay in
order to allow the water to drain from the course. The Scouts then played
through the soggy
conditions en route to a 2nd place finish with a score of 309--4 shots behind
Fremd, who
shot 305. Along with the 2nd-place team finish, Perry Johnson finished
in 4th place with a
score of 76. Charlie Marshall and John Michael Boyle both shot 77’s
and tied for 7th.

The Lake Forest Boys Golf Team got off to a great start to the season by
posting a one shot victory at The Den Golf Club in Bloomington, Illinois. The
Scouts were able to fight through the windy conditions on their way to
victory in the 18-team Raider Invitational. The Scouts were led to
victory by Sophomore Charlie Marshall who finished 4th with a score of
74.

Congratulations to the Scout golfers who finished off an incredible
season with a 4th Place finish at the IHSA State Tournament. The
State Championship was once again held at The Den at Fox Creek
Golf Course in Bloomington, but lacked the typical October wind
and cold temperatures found at the two-day State Tournament.
On Friday, the Scouts ended the day with a team total of 603--putting
them in 5th place and still within striking distance of the state
title. Leading the Scouts was Senior Casey Burke with a 74,
which placed him in a tie for 14th individually. Following
Casey for Lake Forest were Junior Peter Marshall and Sophomore
Perry Johnson both shooting 76. Seniors Jon Klein and Drew
Kenning posted first round 77’s and Junior John Michael Boyle
rounded out the Scouts with an 83.
On Saturday, the Scouts finished with a flurry on the back nine
and ended the tournament with a 605 and a 4th place finish. Lake
Forest was one of only a few teams to improve on their first day
score as they ended their season on a high note. Peter Marshall
shot a 73 to place him as the low Scout on day two and followed
closely by Casey Burke, who repeated his first day score of 74. Perry
Johnson and Jon Klein also matched their first round scores with
a 76 and 77 respectively. Drew Kenning finished day two with
an 80 while Johnny Glyman came in with an 87. Congratulations
to the Scouts on yet another extremely successful season!

Lake Forest Takes Sectional Team Title on Tiebreaker Criteria.
Lake Forest and Barrington both shot 311 at the IHSA Class 3A boys' golf sectional
at Barrington, but the Scouts captured the team title on a tiebreaker--edging
the 80-81 on the fifth score. Lake Forest pulled through behind Peter Marshall
(76), Casey Burke (77), Perry Johnson (79), Jon Klein (79), Drew Kenning (80)
and Johnny Glyman (81).

Congratulations to the Scouts---Claim Regional Title!
The Scout golfers braved the elements as well as one of the most
challenging courses in the area on their way to the Warren Regional
title. The windy and cold conditions made the water-laced, 6600
yard course play even more difficult. Showing the depth of the
Scouts, they were lead by sophomore Perry Johnson, who tied for
medalist honors with a score of 74. Also scoring for Lake Forest
was Peter Marshall (78), Casey Burke (82), John Michael Boyle (84).
The Scout golfers will now travel to the Barrington Sectional at
Makray GC on Monday, October 13.

Scouts Capture the NSC Title
The Scouts were led by Johnny Glyman, who shot 72 on his way to a commanding
four-shot victory. The Scouts, shooting a 308, won the wind-blown tournament
by six shots over Mundelein and seven shots over Stevenson. Top scores were:

Invite
The Scouts entered two teams into their own 16-Team McDermand Invitational
this past Saturday. The Scout teams finished with a one-shot
victory over New Trier and also placed 6th, shooting a 299 and
316, respectively. The Scouts were led by Jon Klein, who shot
73 and finished in a three-way tie for first. He was named the
Invitational Champion after a scorecard playoff. Top Scout scores

The Scouts traveled to Bittersweet GC on Thursday to face the Blue Devils of
Warren HS and came out with a 154 to 171 victory. Top Scout scores were: John

The Scout golfers shot a 304 at the flood-soaked Chevy Chase GC
on Saturday. The Scouts finished ten shots behind tournament
winner, St. Viator, with Barrington and Wheaton Warrenville South
finishing 2nd and 3rd. Top Scout scores were: (Peter Marshall (74),
Will Kirsch (75), Jon Klein (76) and John Michael Boyle (79).

On Saturday, Aug 30, the Scouts were again victorious in two separate
tournaments. At the Lake Forest Invite, the Scouts were
led by Peter Marshall's 70 in route to a team score of 296 and
a 12 shot victory over 2nd place Carmel, who shot 308. Other
scores counting for the Scouts were Mitch Hopfinger and Will
Kirsch both shooting 75 and John Michael Boyle shooting a 76.
At the St. Viator Invite, the Scouts shot a victorious 300 with
John Klein, Perry Johnson, Tyler McHale, and Charlie Marshall all
shooting a score of 75. The Scout golfers defeated Bloomington
HS (303), Fremd (304) and St. Viator (305), Loyola (315), Hersey
(334) and St. Charles East (355).

The LFHS Boys Golf Team got off to a great start this season by
placing 1st at both the Varsity and JV levels at the Raider Invitational
in Bloomington, IL. The Varsity level shot a 308 at The
Den to beat out Barrington by one shot and St. Viator by six.
