David K. Eggers (1988)

The author of best-sellers A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius, You Shall Know Our Velocity!, and How We Are Hungry. Finalist for the Pulitzer Prize and winner of the Addison Metcalfe Award from the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. In 1998, he founded McSweeney's, an independent publishing house located in San Francisco that publishes books, a quarterly literary journal, The Believer, and a daily humor website. In 2002, Eggers opened 826 Valencia, a writing lab for young people located in the Mission District of San Francisco, where he teaches writing to high-school students and runs a summer publishing camp; there are now affiliated centers in six other cities. He is the editor of the Best American Nonrequired Reading, and founder of Voice of Witness, a series of books designed to illuminate human rights abuses around the world.

Mindy Conover Meads (1970)

Accomplished apparel executive for over thirty years, who was named President and CEO of Lands' End in 2004. Mindy has a long track record of leading successful design and merchandising organizations such as R.H. Macy and Company, Limited, and Gymboree Corporation. She has a history of developing and building brands and adept at attracting and leading strong management teams. Presently, Mindy is on the 7th District Federal Reserve Board and the Committee of 200.
